Article XIII
Stipends, Tuition, Fees and Benefits
13.01 The cost items contained in this agreement, which are contingent upon additional, specific, complete, and identifiable appropriation by the General Court, shall not become effective unless the appropriation necessary to fully fund such cost items has been enacted in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws.
13.02 The stipends, tuition, fee schedules and other benefits currently in effect shall remain in full force and effect for the duration of this Agreement. Unit Members will not be subject to fee increases during the duration of this contract.
13.03 All Massachusetts in-state resident teaching and research assistants will be exempt from paying the qualified reduction (9 credits of in-state tuition and fees per semester) while under the contract.
13.04 All non-resident out-of-state teaching and research assistants will be exempt from paying 9 credits of out-of-state tuition per semester while under the contract.
13.05 Effective September 2001, each bargaining unit member (TA or RA) under contract for Fall 2001 shall be eligible for a 2% base increase over 2000-2001 stipend levels and shall be eligible for a 2% merit increase. (See Appendix I). Eligibility for merit increases will be determined in accordance with Article IX Section 9.03 and Article VII Section 7.02. No TA or RA will be denied a merit increase in the event that a supervisor fails to conduct an evaluation.
13.06 Effective September 2002, each bargaining unit member (TA or RA) under contract for Fall 2002, shall receive a 2% base increase over 2001-2002 stipend levels. (See Appendix I).
